I gained a Social Work Degree at Philip Institute of Technology which is now RMIT University, and post-graduate qualifications in Family Therapy (Bouverie Centre) & Developmental Psychiatry (Mindful - Child Psychiatry Training Program). I had my formation as a psychoanalyst in The Freudian School of Melbourne - School of Lacanian Psychoanalysis.

I worked for 30 years in Adult and Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (South Eastern Child & Family Centre - which became Alfred CAMHS). There I specialized in working with parents & children, and was a member of a team training psychiatrists & child psychiatrists. I was also co-ordinator of Education & Training, running and teaching seminars for professionals from Victoria & Interstate. I also supervised & consulted with professionals & agencies on their work with children & families.

I lectured & supervised for Melbourne University at Mindful in the Developmental Psychiatry Course & the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Sciences (Child, Adolescent and Family Therapies) in Metropolitan & Regional Victoria, and Tasmania for over 30 years.

The counselling services that I provide are based in the Psychoanalytic theory of Freud and Lacan, which is traditionally related to individuals. Developments in Family Therapy and the work of Maud Mannoni has enabled this practice to be extended to parents and children. It is often effective in the most severe cases.
